Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Windshield
A plane ferrying Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the plane's windshield, per an announcement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft touched down following standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, among them Pete Hegseth, is safe," a press officer said in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a short visit to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This incident is not the first time that a American defense plane transporting a top government figure has experienced technical problems.
Earlier this year, a American military jet transporting Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was forced to turn back to Washington after experiencing a technical issue.
