Two Individuals Accused Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Two men have been charged in connection with a luggage theft where a suspected capsaicin spray led to people being hurt at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and charges for deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.
This legal action stems from an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their suitcases taken after exiting a car park lift, police said.
A three-year-old girl was among those injured during the incident. Several persons required hospital care and were later discharged.
This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – led to train delays and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
